My Story

Hi, I’m Rebecca!

I’ve always been a creative soul and have a very special love for floral design. After working for many years in the corporate world of finance, I followed my dream of owning my own floral business and founded Hydrangea Bloom Designs in 2018.

There is something so incredible about selecting beautiful individual flowers to construct a perfect arrangement. For me, the process is almost like putting a puzzle together; laying all the pieces out and constructing something amazing.

By putting my time, heart and unique design perspective into each Hydrangea Bloom Design creation, my mission is to bring joy to each client and recipient. It is simply the icing on the cake.

Rebecca’s Specialized Floral Care Tips

Here are a few tips and tricks to help you keep your Hydrangea Bloom Designs arrangements looking fresh and healthy!

Flower Food

Flowers are just like us; they need food and water to help preserve their blooms after they have been cut. You should refresh your water with floral food every 24-48 hours, but it is important to remember that a little bit goes a long way. The correct amount to use can be found on the packets of floral food and is typically 3.5 grams to half a liter of water.

Cutting Your Stems at an Angle

You’ve likely heard that you should cut your stems at an angle before putting them in water, but perhaps you’ve never known exactly how this is helpful.

Think of it like drinking your favorite beverage through a straw; the straw allows you to drink faster. It’s the same thing when it comes to flowers. Cutting your stems at an angle allows the flower to drink the water faster and stay well hydrated.

Time to Arrange!

There is no perfect way to put your flowers together, but there are a few small tricks that will help you make an incredible arrangement. To begin, put your greenery into your vase first. Then work your way from largest to smallest flower, carefully inputting each one into the arrangement. Feel free to move flowers around to provide color and size contrast to your liking. Now, stand back and admire your work!

Cleaning Your Stems

It’s important to remove any leaves from the bottom half of your flower stems. This will help keep the water clean and prevent the bottom of the flowers from becoming slimy.
